Businesses using rappers for promotion

Due to the large fan base within the hip-hop community many business and organizations realize that and use rappers as promotion. In 2007 Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs signed a deal to become a brand ambassador for the Vodka company Ciroc. Since signing, Ciroc’s numbers have increased significantly and this year they are on pace to sell more than 1 million cases (according to Forbes). Combs agreement states that he earns 50% profit from the company which will only add onto the money he receives from his record label Bad Boy Ent. Many other rappers have also been offered promotional deals such as Swizz Beatz and Reebok, Rick Ross and Adidas, Meek Mill with Puma, and most recently 2 Chainz and Champs Sports.
